Early Learning Center

Our mission is to partner with families to share the Gospel and love of Jesus Christ, and to provide an excellent Christ-centered education.

The Early Learning Center at Bethesda Lutheran Church and School consists of:

  • a preschool for children ages 3-5 on school day mornings,
  • early drop-off childcare service for children enrolled in the preschool or primary school,
  • afternoon childcare and enrichment,
  • Friday childcare and enrichment,
  • Summer Care and Enrichment from June through August for children in preschool through grade 3.

Become a Volunteer in our Early Learning Center!

Volunteers are an invaluable resource to our teachers and students.

Assignments might involve sitting and reading to preschool children, assisting with separation anxiety at drop off time, playing with children, supervising lunchroom and playground, or sharing a special skill or occupation to enrich classroom learning! Please our office today for more details at 605-745-6676.

Wednesday chapel

Read a Bible Story, recite a Bible poem, learn a finger play or two!

Monday Math Manipulatives, Tuesday Art Time, Wednesday Music and Movement, Thursday Science Exploration.

Parents are encouraged to share their special talents with the class during our special activity time or at Thursday Show-N-Tell time–would you like to plan an art project, bring in an instrument and teach the children a song, read a book, or make some slime… the possibilities are endless!

In addition to the regular religion class held in the classrooms, students will participate in a weekly chapel service every Wednesday from 8:00-8:45 a.m. These services are conducted by the pastor, faculty, various guests, and at times, the students themselves. Parents and friends of the children are welcome to attend.

An offering is gathered during these services and is used to help special ministries such as missionaries, new churches, and others. These mission opportunities are designated annually.
